Ships are Sailing!

The Tall Ship Fleet were in Liverpool at the weekend - how could I not take photos!

Was a warm sunny day even though the photos look a bit overcast....ha ha

As luck would have it a while ago I had a go at making some boats from Paper Mache.  The structure is based on a traditional origami technique.

Originally I was going to be delivering workshops at the event but in the end was working elsewhere, ah well another time...

Tight Rope Walker

Recently made The Tight Rope Walker which is wooden decal print mounted onto Spruce Wood.

The subject for the image was based on a photograph I took at an outdoor theatrical event many years ago.... Lots of performance artists were dotted around a beautifully lit wasteland area of the city where I live and one of the performances happened to be a lady walking on a tight rope! Brilliant!

Handmade Notebooks

These are the latest editions to my Folksy shop. Lovely sturdy notebooks that I have screen printed using three colours: red, black and white. More on the way, now I've got the hang of it! The exciting bit of stitching / binding was… exciting!

Fish in the Waves - Decal Print Mounted on Spruce Wood

Recently listed in my Folksy Shop a beautiful decal print featuring my design of a shoal of fish swimming amongst blue waves.

My artwork is mounted onto a block of square spruce wood letting the natural variants of the wood appear through my design - making each block unique!

Fish in the Waves
Based on my original screen print I have reproduced the artwork onto decal paper and then carefully placed this onto a hand sanded wooden block - For extra protection the artwork has a coat of varnish - The sides remain natural.

Each block has a pre-drilled hole in the back (diameter 5mm) ready to hang off a nail on your wall... Block dimensions: W 93mm, H 93mm, D 18mm
Oh yes, made the box too!

Vase of Flowers - Decal print on a wooden block

Brave move yesterday as I approached a shop to see if they would like to take on my wares...we'll see what happens and if they like.

Meanwhile I've listed my Vase of Flowers decal print in my Folksy shop a few days ago...

Berries and Birds - Decal print on a wooden block

I've recently added Berries and Birds as a decal printed wooden block to my Folksy Shop.   It features my design of two birds playing amongst blue and purple swirls in a forest.

A lovely tactile object and really pleased with the results and becoming quite obsessed with making them! Originally a hand pulled screen print A3 in size.

My artwork is mounted onto a block of square spruce wood letting the natural variants of the wood appear through my design  - making each block unique!

Recent Exhibition - Unity Theatre

Just a few photos from my recent exhibition in the Unity Theatre Liverpool.  In the end I exhibited nearly forty pieces of work which were displayed around the building.  Beautiful architectural features...
It's been a long time since I've done anything like this and there was a ton of things to think about and do.  Got there in the the end and apart from the odd hiccup (with couple of frames) it's been well received with loads of lovely comments from people and strangers!   Oh the relief...tis done, out of my hands and on the wall!

Collage made using my screen printed papers, leftovers...

Berries and Birds - Green Prints

I've recently printed a four colour screen print of Berries and Birds.

All the greens as you can see and it measures just short of A3 in size.  It's printed on white Fabriano paper and also on brown paper...

There's a single colour edition (black) listed in my Folksy Shop.
